Getting engagement going on Facebook is more important than ever for brand since pages now feature a talking about this metric.

The talking about this metric is the best way to gauge the ultimate success of a Facebook brand, since it does not matter how many fans you have if none of them are paying attention to your content.

Getting more likes and engagement is a powerful approach to building a brand on Facebook.

1. Use Facebook’s Questions Tool

This tool is powerful because most people don’t use it so if you do use it but when someone does most people engage with it.

If you need feedback about the direction to take your brand this is the tool to use.

2. Post Rich Media (Infographics)

Infographics, Pictures, and videos often outperform standard text status updates.

Pictures with meaningful words often get people comments, shares, and likes.

3. Tag others in your updates

Tagging others in your posts causes your post to be shared on the wall of the person you tagged as well.

If you tag a friend they will probably leave the post on their wall, since they are your friend, and since it’s on their wall not only will they probably engage with the content it may also cause other people to click through to your status via the tagged post as well.

4. Install Like buttons into your content

Like buttons lead to more traffic, and more traffic leads to more engagement, so make sure to use them.

5. Enable Facebook commenting on your blog

Since most internet users have Facebook these days enabling Facebook commenting on your blog is a way to make it easy for most people to comment on your content.

6. Share your posts to relevant groups

Do a Facebook search for groups related to your niche.

Then join those groups and when you publish content related to them use the Facebook share feature to share your content to as many relevant groups as possible.

7. Ask your fans for feedback

Asking your fans for feedback can be a great way to guide your content so that you get more engagement in the future.

If you ask your audience what they want, then you deliver that, then they are going to be more likely to engage with that content when you post it.

8. Post on a regular basis

If you can, post something fresh every day. About one post a day is ideal for a good amount of engagement.

Don’t be afraid to post multiple times a day if you have cool content ready, but if you do make sure to spread it out so that you are not spamming your fans news feeds.

9. Offer exclusive content and contests to fans

One way to do this is to have a “Fan of the month” contest where you reward the most engaged user in your page with a prize.

If you reward engagement then people will engage more so that they can win.

10. Make your Facebook page stand out
